Audio sync issues on iOS mobile sync content

Starting a couple weeks ago I began to notice audio sync issues when playing back videos synced to my iOS device. Theres a crackling sound with all audio, and within a couple minutes the audio begins to drift by several seconds. After a few minutes of this, the screen will go black and I will have to restart the playback session. This doesn’t happen for direct playback, or even transcoded playback, only for synced media. I’ve tried deleting and reinstall the app, deleting all synced data, restarting the server, and removing the codecs on the server to force them to be reinstalled. Any idea how to fix this?

This seems to have fixed itself with an update sometime in the last week. Not sure which update it was, the iOS or PMS updates, but I’m on the latest beta of each. Thanks everyone who helped out!

Well I have all the last update and I’m getting the same problem since march. Pls someone can point to the solution?

I too have this problem. Crackling audio (kind of like having static noise added to the audio) on sync’ed content, and an audio lag that seems to be expanding the more I watch. If I skip forward 30 seconds and then backward 30 seconds audio syncs up correctly again, until the audio drift appears again and makes things unwatchable.

I’m happy to share logs or other data of that helps pinpoint the issue and hopefully solve it. Using PMS on Synology (latest version as of yesterday) and latest Plex iOS app.

Please Plex devs, will you look into it?

Forgot to update this. I’m not sure what had changed. Perhaps I just had a few files that synced correctly, but I am having the issue again. I’ve stopped syncing most of my media now because of it. Streaming works fine, but I prefer to have synced media files so I don’t have to use internet when I’m away from home.

I’m also happy to share logs or anything else the devs need to address this.

I am also experience nearly the exact same issue. Audio will have static/crackling noise that gradually gets worse ONLY on synced content. I have also attempted to redownload the app and resync the content with no change. iOS version is up to date as well. It’s been a few months now with no official reply to your original post…. Doesn’t seem promising.

With the Plex iOS app up to date, still the same issue. There have been 30+ updates to the app since the original post and this one major problem is not even acknowledged. I don’t even use the mobile app anymore, to me it’s useless as long as the sync issue is not fixed. I’ve reached out to the Plex employees that post the updates and got no answer. It really looks like they don’t care what their users think… I’m starting to look for an alternative that works, so much for my Plex pass subscription. Recommandations, anyone?
