While video transcoding is supported by the Plex DLNA server, it seems Audio transcoding is not.
In my specific case this means I cannot access my predominantly ALAC format music library via DLNA
Audio transcoding is supported in the DLNA profiles, as far as I know; you just need a profile for your device that specifies the transcode. I’m not a DLNA profile writer, mind you, but there’s more information in that forum.

I have looked at creating a new profile, but am unsure how to configure pure audio transcoding as I found no examples of that - though I didn’t look extensively given I was told it wasn’t it supported anyway
Hello - any update on Plex supporting Audio Transcoding via DLNA? Specifically for ALAC which is not supported by WDTV
Happy to try to create a profile if someone can point me to some audio related documentation - have searched but haven't seen any updates to (for example) the "Writing DLNA profiles" and related posts
