Authorized Devices Not Showing

What’s a work around for this situation for now? I don’t like knowing devices have access to my account that I haven’t authorized.

You did authorize this device.
Only when your managed user took the device and then ‘switched user’ to her sub-account, it got assigned to her.

The only workaround right now is to:

  1. take the device
  2. ‘switch user’ on it to your admin account

Which should make it appear among your own devices again (perhaps with a small delay).

All of my family are in sub users and I can see their devices in my Admin account. Hers is the only one not showing. The way you are describing why I’m having this issue is something I do with all of my users, yet hers is the only one I’m having issues with.

Hey there, @OttoKerner asked me to take a look.

First - There use to be a bug where sometimes changing the name of a device did not reflect properly in Plex Web. Is it possible, the device is listed as something else on your account?

Second (more likely situation) - Since your sister is a managed user, that means you or she must have used your admin login to authenticate her iPhone originally. This should have added the device to your list, then added it to her user when she changed to her managed user. I think there is a bug/loop hole that if you, as the admin, remove the device from your account, it does not remove the access from your managed users. Is it possible you deleted her iPhone from your list previously and just forgot about it. That could explain why she has access but you don’t see it listed.

The workaround would be to switch back to your user account on the iPhone, then log out. Since managed users cannot log back in, they will not have access without your admin login info.

We will look into this bug/loop hole.

When she does access the library I can see what device she is streaming from, it says Abigails iPhone. So I don’t think it’s possible that it’s named something different in my list.

I haven’t removed any devices in the past but if I had it wouldn’t make sense that she still had access.

What if I delete her managed user account and then create a new one for her? Would that work?

I mean if it was named something different when it was first authenticated, like if it just said iPhone. Then your sister changed it later, it might still show as iPhone on your list but will show as something else when she is using it.

That’s the bug/loop hole.

Yes that would work too. Deleting and recreating a managed user will create an all new user so all previous access should be removed.

All the other devices I have I know exactly who they belong to. Hers is just not there.

I’ll try deleting her user and see if that works… Any idea when this will be resolved?

So I went in and changed my password and selected “Sign out all devices” did that, and my brother still had access to my library… plex needs some help in this area… I don’t feel like I’m in control…

That doesn’t help. That only removed devices authorized under your account. If you previously shared your server with your brother, he would still have access. I thought the issue was with your sister before?
