Auto conversion, speeds up playback around 4x

I tried to watch tv show on my Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 (Android 5.1), the tablet and the Plex server are on different networks, the tablet is connected via wi-fi (the connection speed is ~20 megabits, 1080p was constantly freezing and trying to buffer, I turned on automatic quality selection, the quality started to decrease, but the playback speed increased (feels like 4 times). If i select quality manually, then everything is fine, on my other device with Android 12, and in the web player, everything works correctly.
