Why is there no feature to auto optimize video files like at night while its not recording? Also I want the optimized versions to replace the original to save space.

+1 The ability to “Convert while recording” is nice but how about “Queue for Optimization after recording” especially useful now that commercial pulling is included. Removing the commercials and transcoding/optimizing overnight seems like a nice feature.
+1 definitely +1! That, along with the commercial removal that was just announced today would remove the need to use MCEBuddy in parallel.
Agreed! All I want now from DVR/Live TV is to auto optimize video files (discard original) and Grid view (which they are working on).
+1 on the auto optimize option. For me it’s the only thing the PVR is missing.
