I’m running Plex 4.13 on iOS 10.3.x, and recently I’ve noticed that subtitles are no longer appearing automatically for synced items. Playback settings allows the subtitles to be selected “English (MOV_TEXT)” is listed and can be selected and this is remembered.
Prior to this, the Global App Settings for Plex.tv seemed to apply (Always Enabled) and it was not necessary to manually select.
When selecting a non-local file, subtitles appear; that is, if a synced video is not auto displaying subtitles (and I do not turn them on), I can delete the synced item and then play it from the local server and the subtitles will appear.
Running PMS Version 1.5.5.3634 on macOS 10.12.5 and the videos have been transcoded by PMS when syncing.
