My brother has purchased a LG TV with Plex installed and noticed in the Plex app settings you can auto skip intros and credits with a Plex Pass.
How can I do this on my Apple TV? let me guess!! it’s not supported!!
You can’t (yet). Those features are still missing on the iOS/tvOS clients.
So if I add users to library access they will not have access to certian features? Do I need to add them as friends?
I don’t really want anyone else to know what I am watching…
Some features are only available if a user has their own Plex Pass membership or is a member of a Plex Home for which the home owner has a Plex Pass.
IC, ok they don’t have a Plex pass, so what is the difference between adding them as a friend or adding just library access? or are they both the same thing?
You can have a friend without sharing anything. But there’s a third classification and that is to have someone in your Plex Home. Think of this as friend on steroids. It’s recommended to only have this be close friends as it’s a bit less secure.
The plus side to it though is that they will have access to all your Plex Pass features including the skip intros/credit features.
Make that family members / people living with you… and who don’t have a server of their own.

There’s no technical verification if users actually live with you. But given how the concept of „Plex Home“ works, I wouldn’t use it to give other users access to your Plex Pass features.
Great, he can now skip intros and credits, even better with his LG TV he can automatically skip them, looks like the popular Apple TV does not!! hopefully soon!!
