Tip! : To analyze and detect television show “intros” and for them to be available for users requires a Plex Pass subscription for Plex Media Server admin account. The ability to skip intros during playback requires a Plex Pass for the Plex account used in the player app (or be in the Plex Home where the home admin has Plex Pass).
I added my daughter’s account to my Plex Home by sending an invitation to her email address. The invitation was accepted and her account now appears in my Plex Home.
However, when using the Plex app on my TV:
if I select my account (server owner with Plex Pass), the Skip Intro button appears
if I select my daughter’s account (now part of my Plex Home), the Skip Intro button does not appear
So even though her account is part of my Plex Home, she still does not seem to have access to the Skip Intro feature on the TV.
Is this expected behavior or could it be related to the Plex client used on the TV?
If the client supports skipping intros, this should work.
The only thing coming to mind:
some players support advanced player settings to control the behavior like skipping intros (with options to skip automatically, manually or not at all)
sometimes it might take a restart of the app (occasionally the server) to pick up the fact that your daughter is a fully qualified member of your Plex Home)
I added my daughter’s account to my Plex Home using an email invitation. At first it still didn’t work: the Skip Intro button appeared for my account but not for hers.
I then updated Plex Media Server to the latest version and restarted the server.
After that, my daughter’s account correctly received the Skip Intro feature.
