Auto smart playlist with random sort weird behaviour

I created the smart playlist using this link.

Problem is when I play an item on this list, it plays another item. i.e. the list items are linked to a different item

Filters set are unplayed is true, sort type is random, limit is 10 items.

I got the random order by manually editing in url field.

I suspect it has sync issues.

Any other way of going about using smart shuffle which doesn’t depend of user smart playlists?

I found the same thing, but I figured out that only the first track that plays is incorrect. After the first track (or if you manually hit ‘Next’), it’s all correct.

Yes that is a side effect that the track list is dynamic, every time it is loaded, it is different.

This mean that what you see is one list, what gets played is a different list.

There is no simple way to capture/play the exact list of what you see.

Actually in my case it’s the opposite. The first item I play in the list is sometimes correct but when the Next item is played in the list after the current item, it is different than what was supposed to play.

I have followed this “recipe” in the past and it has worked flawlessly for me.

However, today I can’t seem to get the URL to return back a “&sort=” keyword.

Has something changed in the latest version of Plex to have made this “recipe” redundant?

I’ve really have loved Plex for allowing me to randomly sort my entire music library and listen to that playlist. I really want to continue to do that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Recent Plex update has added random sort option
