Server Version#: 1.18.3.2156
Issue:
I’ve been having an issue with plex auto-tagging service for over 3 months where plex is unable to tag any photo in my entire library. (I have less than 1000 photos)
Back story:
So, today my PC went into a BSOD cycle so I thought it was time to reset my server at this point wiping my OS, Plex and other software and getting a clean copy of everything. This resulted in me investigating further into the issues I’ve been having with auto-tagging.
What I found:
As far as I can tell, the limit each month for uploading and auto-tagging photos is 1000 every rolling month as stated here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/234976627-auto-tagging-of-photos/
(Similar to how a mobile contract works)
This should be fine as I have less than 1000 photos in my plex library folder but I get a warning saying
Warning — AutoTagging: the service is currently throttled, skipping item (****).
I know in the past plex has managed to auto-tag photos as they were the same I had over a year ago.
I’ve seen posts from Plex Employee’s saying I have to wait 30 days from when I was last throttled for the tagging to start again but this doesn’t make any sense as I have waited for over 3 months for tags to appear but they never have.
I’ve attached logs from the start of creating the library to the end of the scan and analysis of a small 54 photo library.
I really hope someone can help me with this as I’ve seen quite a few posts like it. Is it something on my end or to do with Plex and Imagga.
