Using both openload and the sub-zero plugin in plex settings fails to download any subtitles. At the same time any subtitles I manually download aren’t being recognised by plex.
There is no need to use the opensubtitles plugin if you have SubZero.
You need to have ‘Local Media Assets’ activated under
- Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
- Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
- Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - Personal Media Shows
- Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
- Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase
- Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Personal Media
And there are lots of options in the SubZero plug-in .
One being your opensubtitles login details.
I like english subtitles on all my media and personally I have not found Subzero very reliable.
Seems like the issue with the opensubtitles plugin was incorrect credentials (wrong password). Once I corrected it: all of my episodes (with the exception of one episode of The Wire) had subtitles downloaded. However I have noticed some episodes to have wrong subtitles downloaded.
The SubZero plugin always had the correct openload credentials and I implemented the fix suggested by OttoKerner with no change. I would like to fix the occasional incorrect subtitles.
" I would like to fix the occasional incorrect subtitles."
From my experience this will never happen while you d/l subtitles separately from the show.
I just wish when I d/l an mkv I can see if it has subtitles or not…
What do you mean by separately downloading subtitles - do you mean manually downloading subtitles?
Yes manually.
I d/l MKV and some have subtitles which is fine as MCEBuddy remux-es to mp4 and extracts the subtitles.
Others with no subs i use filebot or sublight . That is where it is just luck as they may or may not be in sync with what I have in my library.
I am hoping the mkv I d/l soon will be marked (in the name of the file} so i can get sonarr to pick them. Other things are added to the name like 720, 1080, x264, h265, xvid, amzn etc .
Why can’t “sub” be added or “sub1” means same language as audio.
I had to re-enable the OpenSubtitles agent as I was consistently getting the following error for many shows.
Series not found in show ids
Mind you this was a korean tv series but enabling opensubtitles I was able to see in the log that the match was occurring and was downloading a .gz file where Subzero didn’t find anything.
There must be something up with SubZero in either it’s configuration or the way it is searching to match the episodes
