Recently I tried playing my copy of “Apollo 11 (2019)” with the transcode quality setting “Automatic”. After about 30 seconds it fails with this message (in Swedish):
When I tried playing it at the original quality and bitrate it went fine.
I should note that I am using “RAM Transcoding” per this guide:
Transcoding Plex Streams in RAM
And while I was testing I checked and for my most demanding files the RAM usage in total went from about 400-500 Megabytes to 3.45-3.90 Gigabytes of a total of 16 Gigabytes.
My CPU is an i7-13700H which handles the transcodes very well.
Could this be a bug of some sort? I checked the MKV file of the film and it’s perfectly playable.
I also tried “2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)” which gave me the same error for the “Automatic” setting on quality.
