Autoplay/up next on Android-TV not working

I am once again asking for you to please fix the autoplay issue with android tvs. When using a playlist, or just watching from the season view, Plex will go black and start counting into the negative seconds instead of playing the next episode, or restart the episode but with no audio/video. The last version that worked properly was 8.11. We are now on 8.18.2.

This is, in short, pathetic. I am paying a subscription for a service that has been obsolete since January 25th, and instead of fixing the issue you’re adding retro games to the service? I don’t mind new features, but I, and almost every other user, use Plex for one purpose and that purpose isn’t being fulfilled when you’re ignoring bugs in favor of new features. I have seen thread after thread of requests to have it fixed, I’ve seen logs provided, and then promptly ignored, and I’ve seen exactly one, (1), yes, I repeat ONE, comment from anyone on the Plex team regarding this, and all it said was “This hasn’t been forgotten about”. That was 3 months ago.

Sorry if I seem a little short or even rude in this post, but personally I think this has reached the point of pure ridiculousness on the part of the Plex team. I’d like to be able to upgrade to the new player instead of sitting on one that is now around six months out of date, I think that’s a fair request to make.

I would honestly ditch the Android TV client - it is the most buggy of all the Plex clients IMO.

It has been working for me on the latest beta using the shield.

Been using Plex for 5 years. It’s getting worse and worse. The Android TV Client is total crap. This problem is here for months. Plex seems to have higher priorities than fixing their clients. Heavy stuff. Watching TV Shows with this bug is insanely frustrating. I am happy to help troubleshooting or send logs. Just tell me that to do.

I have had good luck working with @ChuckPa in the past, but as I said, I ditched the Shield client because there were so many bugs/the UI/UX is horrible. I’m back on my Roku for now, but I agree that the client experience is getting worse with each passing year.

Hopefully Chuck can help route this to the correct team though so at least this bug can be fixed.

I plug my Shield in every month or two, update the Plex app, and test it for a day or two because I REALLY want to like it. But it is just riddled with bugs and a poor UI/UX, I always go back to my Roku after a few days. Sure, the Roku is a bit slower to navigate and some of my files need to transcode, but it literally ALWAYS works.
