I have a separate library for trailers, unfortunately after watching a trailer, the movie itself is marked as being watched. Is there a way to avoid this synchronization?
There was a similar topic suggesting to use different agents but this seems somehow deprecated due to the change to the Plex Movie Agent.
Watch state is tied to the metadata Id of the movie itself. Meaning Willy Wonka is always a particular ID regardless of where it is and is the same for everyone. If the trailer and the movie as matched as the same thing then they will have the same watch state.
Use Editions which are considered a separate item. (Note that editions will not be synced to profile watch history I’m not sure if they ever will be in the future). Willy Wonka {edition-Trailer}/Willy Wonka {edition-Trailer}.mkv https://support.plex.tv/articles/multiple-editions/
No. 1 seems only to work well when I have the movie itself in the library. And I don’t like this integrated version because I would like to keep my folders clean and the plan is to create trailer playlists and collections.
No. 2 seems perfect for the moment. I can edit this for all items in the trailer library at once and I can keep them separated from the movie files. So it is very easy to handle.
