Backwards compatibility with older servers

Server Version#: 1.9.6.4429
Player Version#: Latest Version on TV

I have an old Qnap that cannot be upgraded anymore, and the latest version of the TV client always says Unable to play.

Are there any workarounds?

The glibc version must be 2.14.1 or above.

You are most likely revision locked because QTS itself.

Since QNAP is no longer providing updates, glibc will not likely be upgraded.

As confirmation, before completely giving up, which model and QTS version do you have?

So I either need to move to a windows based plex server or upgrade to a newer nas?

Judging by your answer, I presume you’re using QTS 4.2.x
You can confirm if your model is still supported by looking in our NAS compatibility guide

If it’s indeed not there then yes, you’ll need to keep your NAS as solely a NAS and move your Server to a new system or purchase a new NAS and transfer the drives.

no problem, thanks for the answer.
