I have one movie on my plex server that I’m having trouble getting the correct meta data. Here are the IMDB and TMDB links to the film:
The main issue I have is with the release date. Plex keeps setting the date as 2023. I thought the title was an issue, but it looks like that’s on IMDB’s side. You can see both IMDB and TMDB have the year as 2009, but this is what I see with the plex agent:
Side question, Any way to get plex to pull the US title and not the international english tile?
This has 3 different theatrical release dates listed. I wonder what release type plex is looking for, these are listed as “other”. I see limited and nation wide as two other options.
Pretty sure it’s considered a theatrical release if it does not have anything in the attribute field.
Not sure where your screenshot is from, but looking at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) - Release info - IMDb, you can see that all the entries (except for 3 which refer to specific regions and the 2nd US release which is digital) have no parentheses in the list.
Based on that, what you are considering as “3 theatrical release dates” are not theatrical release dates to Plex. I’m only going based on a major movie that came out, so none of what I am saying is actually confirmed. A Plex employee/ninja with actual knowledge would have to confirm what I am speculating is true.
