Bad Plex EPG Guide Data -

This just started happening recently, just caught it. Plex has stopped naming some new shows with the SnnEnn naming nomenclature and dropping them into the correct SeasonXX folder. I’m getting old shows dumped into a Season 2019 folder. Would love some insight into why this is happening. Plex Version 1.16.3.1433. See attached photos, looks like it’s coming from the new Guide Data sources in the latest version. Thanks in advance -

What it looks like from the Plex Interface.

Looks like everything I’m recording beginning August 8th is getting the recording day date instead of the Sxx Exx. Going to have to cancel all my recordings now. I’ve refreshed Guide Data - Submitting ticket to the Plex Dev Team here:

This guide data is a bit of a disaster…

I’m in the UK, my EPG is exactly the same as this too. Surely this has to be a Plex issue rather than the EPG source?

Started happening after my last Plex update.

fyi, currently you have to manually “force refresh” the load of epg data. If you don’t force a full refresh you might not be getting everything available. ymmv.

Thanks for the reply

Yeah, I’m in early stages of troubleshooting.

I’ve manually reset several times, but not getting any more EPG data :frowning:

I’ve also switched to “Enhanced Guide” and can’t see any difference in information presented to me.

“Reset” or refresh?

@darcilicious Good catch, I meant refreshed although…

I’ve done both. Reset the DVR, even deleting it and reinstalling it.

And Refreshed the EPG multiple times.

Here is a screenshot of what I am seeing now…

Do you know of a fast way to map the Freesat Channels? Sat Dish has over 700 channels many duplicates, how do I know I mapping the right one?

Probably open a new thread on this question.

I’m very surprised there hasn’t been much response to this issue. Feeling lonely out here

At this point I’m facing canceling all recording schedules until the Guide Data is represented correctly. cringe wince

Mine has fixed itself today

There are at least two very long threads with the exact same issues and with presence of a Plex employee:

Looks like it’s fixing itself now.. Thank goodness. Now to go delete all the Season2019 files..

Super nice to have presence of a Plex employee. Looks like it’s fixing itself now. Thanks for the rundown and closing of the loop!

Well, it is probably fixed by Plex and/or the guide provider due to the noise generated in these threads

Here in Germany I still have channels which do not show any guide data at all, seems I need to create some noise myself if I want it to get fixed…

I did submit a trouble ticket using the google docs form at the top of my thread. Give it a shot!

I did so too, some weeks ago. Live TV via Plex is not uber important to me, so I have time.

Testing now, it may not be fixed in the guide data for some of my shows. Will report back -
