This new EPG is next to useless. I have removed and re-added the Guide multiple times.
Issues encountered here in the UK:
The initial mappings are out of order for quite a few channels.
Some channels just don’t exist e.g. E4, even though E4+1 does exist!!! (EDIT: E4 Now fixed )
Even after a full EPG refresh, half the guide is missing (see screenshot) No data for BBC 1, 2 etc. If I go to the next day, then there is data for some channels, not all!
Very inconsistent EPG data (see screenshot). If you look at Channel 5 for today, The friends episodes are all out of order e.g. E8, E10, E9, even though they are being aired in episode order. If the episode data is not correct, DVR functionality is going to be extremely broken.
This is making everything a nightmare when it comes to DVR. Before all of this I had convinced my parents to move to Plex. Starting to get nothing but grief from them now and wish I hadn’t.
I know this is in BETA, but this needs sorting ASAP now we are being forced to use this guide. I read somewhere, not sure is correct or not, that the data is coming from freeview.co.uk. If it is, something is clearly wrong, as all the data is present and correct there!
There is an issue with overlapping airings that result in the above - a generic 24 hour block entry is not being purged. A fix is being worked on that. Does that long BBC 1 Programming cover about 24 hours (well it would have been 24 hours from start and start could have been 4am or 5am)
I can’t confirm if it is 24 hours but the information on BBC is very sporadic so it might be related - for example several channel have data that resumes at midnight but then some disapear again later in the morning.
However some channels have hardly any data according to my EPG. For example i really want ITV4 but this regularly has a problem…
Here’s 2 screen shots the 1st showing Plex web, the 2nd the iPad app.
The iPad guide is showing full data whereas the web guide has the issue others are talking about in this thread.
This might explain one of the issues, but not the incorrect EPG episode data. If that doesn’t get fixed DVR functionality will be fundamentally broken.
The fixes for the channel list for the following UK channels are now in place within the Freeview OTA Broadcast lineups
13 E4
39 CBS Justice
83 Now 80s
84 Now 90s
235 Al Jazeera (English)
Other fixes were in place before this morning
This leaves an issue with 24 hour blocks of program schedule that appear in the grid - these are being purged now and expect them to disappear later today. They manifest themselves as a generic 24 hour entry of XXXX Programming
@sa2000 Are you sure that the purging the schedules will fix this as I can see a much better EPG as example BBC2 on my Android phone in the Plex App, but no EPG for BBC2 on Plex Web and Plex Media Player?
Which to me looks like an app issue with parsing the EPG data.
If plex client apps are given overlapping airings for same channel - they may present the results in different way. Basically we have a 24 hour block of generic program entry and then within that actual airings as separate entries
I have exactly the same issue as [jamesdisco] #### Version 1.16.1.1291
Web has lots of missing data and Ipad has the tv listings!
Have removed the HDHomeRun CONNECT QUATRO and re scanned the channels & refrehed guide - Using - DVR—Freeview London OTA Broadcast.
The issue of having long periods in the grid of “xxxxx Programming” should be fixed. The data has been purged and the cache should have expired now. It needs a full manual Guide refresh to resolve
The earlier channel lineup corrections need a DVR Deletion and re create (after a minute or two after delete) to pick up - please try to pick the Freeview OTA Broadcast lineups as these are the ones that have been addressed
I have now migrated to the new EPG and so far it’s not looking too bad. I went for the Freesat South setup after trying Freesat National lineup first but found many channels jumbled up. The South lineup has everything I need but I still noticed the following mismatches;
BBC Two should be matched to channel 110 in England but in Plex this channel is called 110 BBCFOUR (BBC Four)
BBC Two HD should be channel 102 but in Plex this channel is called 102 BBC2HDTV (BBC 2 NI HDTV)
BBC Scotland HD should be channel 108 but in Plex this channel is called 108 BBCTWO (BBC 2)
If you are using an Antenna then please use the Freeview xxxxx OTA Broadcast lineups as these are the ones that had channel numbers corrected to correspond to the Freeview changes for the UK that came in May and June
If there are errors please let me know. The DVR needs to be deleted and re-created following any changes to channel numbers.
OK thanks. To follow this up, I need exact details of post code, lineup name and the anomalies please. You can submit through the form here Reporting Plex DVR Lineup Inaccuracies - you can also mention the lineup here and exact errors and send me country/post code by PM
