ETA for Kabel Deutschland regional lineups?

Weiß niemand so genau.

Auf welchem Platz was liegt, ist meiner Meinung also total egal.

There are now more lineups available. For example a Munich Post code now gets these to select from

Kabel Deutschland Baden-Württemberg Digital
Kabel Deutschland Bayern Digital
Kabel Deutschland Berlin Digital
Kabel Deutschland Brandenburg Digital
Kabel Deutschland Bremen Digital
Kabel Deutschland Germany Digital
Kabel Deutschland Hamburg Digital
Kabel Deutschland Hessen Digital
Kabel Deutschland Mecklenburg-Vorpomme Digital
Kabel Deutschland Munich (East) Digital
Kabel Deutschland Munich (West) Digital
Kabel Deutschland Niedersachsen Digital
Kabel Deutschland North Rhine-Westphal Digital
Kabel Deutschland Rheinland-Pfalz Digital
Kabel Deutschland Saarland Digital
Kabel Deutschland Sachsen Digital
Kabel Deutschland Sachsen-Anhalt Digital
Kabel Deutschland Schleswig-Holstein Digital
Kabel Deutschland Thüringen Digital

So the only change is Munich got its own lineup(s) since we complained here?
Anyway thanks for letting us know, will try to set things up asap.

No - not just Munich

There are 200+ new lineups

Ok, than sorry for being ungrateful

Had a quick look, 233 HGTVHD and 605 TOGGOP still don’t have any entry (to be announced) for Munich West.

So where would I find these and the postcode? I am confused. I set up my fritz.box (community supported) fresh and I still get the old short DVB-C channel list, not the new “200 provider” lineup that is mentioned here. And also no postcode entry.

It seems as the new lineups are not yet deployed connected to the correct postcode. In practice you shouldn’t see the whole 200 lineups but merely the one which is correct for your area (+ the general ones maybe). For my zip (81476) I received Munich West and East (dunno what is the difference between the two) and I see the Bundesland lineups and the other general lineups. In another thread, it seemed as other Munich zip codes didn’t lead to the same result, which led me to believe mappings are made individually and the provider does not seem to know a lot about German zip codes.

So you could post your postcode and desired lineup here and sa2000 might have it fixed for you with the provider. It seems as this is the way it works…

Sure: I am in 84036 and would need to see Kabel Deutschland Landshut Lineup. The full postcode list for this Lineup would be 84028 to 84036.
Currently when I enter the postcode in the last step I get Astra, DVB-T and the list of country providers - the Bavaria lineup has about only 80% coverage of the real lineup at my postcode. I don’t get the Munich lineups (those would have about 90% coverage).

@sa2000: The 81476 Munich West and East lineup now display Channel 103 and 114 as “Mainfranken” and “Mainfranken HDTV” but should be RTL and RTL HD respectively. That channel is now gone completely. I have to say, that one really gets tired of reporting all the crap that is happening with the lineups.
Mainfranken isn’t even available for my area.

Channel 333 is an HDTV channel.

Edit: Just found out the Mainfranken issue was already reported a week ago… Bad Plex EPG Guide Data -

@sa2000
Happy: Germany 84036 postcode now resolves to Kabel Landshut. Thank you.

Sad:
In short, the guide is totally unusable right now.

For reasons unknown, MANY channels do not show up at all during scan:
All ZDF channels, Many free HD channels

156 - ORF2 is disabled by default but should be enabled.
RTL is mapped to RTL2 but should be mapped to missing RTL which is wrongly attributed as MNFRNK on 103.
SAT.1 is not mapped and should be mapped to 104 SAT1BAYE
WDR HD Köln is not mapped and should be mapped to 163 WDRKNHD
SR Fernsehen is wrongly mapped to 144 HR and should be 147 SR
BR Fernsehen Süd HD is not mapped and should be 164
NDR FS HH HD is not mapped and should be 165
MDR Sachsen HD is not mapped and should be 166
Radio Bayern 1 is wrongly mapped to 141 and should be 154
Radio B5 Plus is wrongly mapped to 208 and should be 156
RTL II is wrongly mapped to 222 and should be 107
BBC World News, unmapped, should be 563
CNN, unmapped, should be 566
Pro Sieben, unmapped, should be 105

In short, the guide is totally unusable right now.

The Mainfranken issue seems to be resolved for 81476 München Ost at least, as now correctly RTL HD is presented on channel 114.

@sa2000 does it make sense to start reporting missing S/E information in the Kabel Deutschland guides?
Is Plex DVR able to handle double episode airings? Especially kids shows are often aired this way, often also not subsequent episodes but random pairing. This often generates problems and with the current quality of the guide my hopes are not high, that this will work in Plex.

I have not looked at how composites are handled: where a couple of different episodes are aired as one airing.

I would need to investigate specifics to see how they appear on the guide and how we would handle recordings and I would need logs to see how and what they would match to after recordings

I did, they appear only as the first episode, which is also how schedulesdirect handles it by the way. My question was aimed at if Plex was in principle able to detect both episodes somehow. Dunno if this Plex or provider related.

As an example you can look at the programme of channel 625 nick Jr. as nearly all of their kids shows are aired as two “bridged” episodes. I can make a dummy recording if this helps.

Unfortunately, a lot of the airings at nick Jr. don’t show any S/E information at all. I will try to record both an airing with and without this information.

Edit:
I recorded one of these airings, it displays as the first episode (I guess), but has both in the actual title.

I also have to add, that E13 is wrong here. Should be E48 according to thetvdb ( Penny Rescues the Aqua Wing). The second one is E49 ( Bananas Away).

A channel being unmapped would be a different issue from a channel not being available or wrong in the lineup.

The mapping of tuner channels to lineup channel is done by Plex Media Server during setup. May be channels are unmapped because of old mapping.

We need to separate EPG lineup errors from Plex Media Server issues - so I will break this down into two potential problems areas to check out - the first is the lineup

Is this a tuner where you need to manually scan channels during setup within Plex Media Server eg a Hauppauge pci or usb tuner ? if it is, can you scan channels using the full frequency range within Plex Media Server Live TV and DVR settings

Going through your list:

MANY channels do not show up at all during scan: All ZDF channels, Many free HD channels

I need to establish if they are missing from the lineup or just not mapped. Do they show up in the dropdown of channel list on the right hand side when going through setup and having selected the lineup ?

The lineup has these ZDF channels

102 : ZDF (ZDF)
113 : ZDFHD (ZDF HDTV)
206 : KIKA ZDF_ (KIKA ZDF_neo)
247 : ZDFNEOHD (ZDFneo HDTV)
560 : ZDFINFOK (ZDF Info)
579 : ZDFINFHD (ZDF Info HDTV)

Is this correct for your region and lineup ? Kabel Deutschland Landshut Digital

Checking Belegung - Landshut - Vodafone-Kabel-Helpdesk shows the same ZDF channels as in the lineup

Any mapping issue I will cover below - for now lets establish if there are lineup issues

RTL is mapped to RTL2 but should be mapped to missing RTL which is wrongly attributed as MNFRNK on 103.
RTL II is wrongly mapped to 222 and should be 107

Looking at all RTL channels in the lineup

107 : RTL2 (RTL II)
118 : RTL2HD (RTL II HDTV)
208 : RTLPLUS (RTL Plus)
216 : RTLNITHD (RTL Nitro HDTV)
222 : RTLLIVIN (RTL Living)
229 : RTLPLHD (RTL Plus HDTV)
237 : RLH (RTL LIving HDTV)
336 : RTLCHD (RTL Crime HDTV (Germany))
601 : SUPERRTL (Super RTL)
617 : SUPRTLHD (Super RTL HDTV)

and comparing with Belegung - Landshut - Vodafone-Kabel-Helpdesk

103 : MNFRKN (Mainfranken) - should be RTL Landshut
114 : MAINFRAN (Mainfranken HDTV) - should be RTL Landshut HD

The rest on this web page agree with what is in the EPG

Will tackle mapping issue separately in my response

Radio Bayern 1 is wrongly mapped to 141 and should be 154

The lineup has
141 : BAYERFES (bayerisches Fernsehen Süd)
and there is no 154 channel

This web page for Kabel Deutschland for Landshut Digital channels,

shows two 141 channels

141 BR Fernsehen Süd
141 FM4
and
154 Bayern 1 (Oberbayern)

So we need to get channel 154 added to the lineup and then see if the mapping would be correct.

Radio B5 Plus is wrongly mapped to 208 and should be 156
156 - ORF2 is disabled by default but should be enabled.

Interesting !

The lineup has

156 : ORF2WIEN (ORF 2 - Wien)
208 : RTLPLUS (RTL Plus)

The cable web page Belegung - Landshut - Vodafone-Kabel-Helpdesk has

156 Bayern plus
361 B5 Plus

156 ORF 2 Wien

So what are you expecting here ?
Two 156 channels in the lineup and you decide which to use if Bayern plus or ORF 2 - switching mapping manually in DVR setting?

Is 361 another radio channel B5 Plus channel number? If it is, then I can ask for that to be added to the lineup and you would then have 156 for ORF2 and 361 for B5 Plus

Mapping issues

For mapping issues / channels disabled - where the EPG data is correct, I would need Plex Media Server logs with debug logging enabled to see how channels are mapped once you enter the post code and select Lineup Kabel Deutschland Landshut Digital. But before doing that, would like you to delete the DVR in settings, wait a few minutes then go through setup and enter your post code 84036 and then select the lineup Kabel Deutschland Landshut Digital

If there are still issues mapping the channels, take screenshot of the channels mapping screens in settings and collect the server logs and give an indication of what is wrong

From your list these are your reported mapping issues

SAT.1 is not mapped and should be mapped to 104 SAT1BAYE
Lineup does show “104 : SAT1BAYE (Sat.1 Bayern)”

Pro Sieben, unmapped, should be 105
Lineup does show “105 : PRO7 (ProSieben)”

SR Fernsehen is wrongly mapped to 144 HR and should be 147 SR
Lineup does show
144 : HRFERNSEHE (HR Fernsehen)
147 : SRFERN (SR Fernsehen (Saarland))

WDR HD Köln is not mapped and should be mapped to 163 WDRKNHD
Lineup does show “163 : WDRKNHD (WDR Köln HDTV)”

BR Fernsehen Süd HD is not mapped and should be 164
Lineup does show “164 : BRFRSHD (BR Fernsehen Sud HDTV)”

NDR FS HH HD is not mapped and should be 165
Lineup does show “165 : NDRHAMHD (NDR Ham HDTV)”

MDR Sachsen HD is not mapped and should be 166
Lineup does show “166 : MDSHD (MDR Sachsen HDTV)”

BBC World News, unmapped, should be 563
Lineup does show “563 : BBCWORLD (BBC World News)”

CNN, unmapped, should be 566
Lineup does show “566: CNNEU (CNN International)”

Radio B5 Plus is wrongly mapped to 208
See my earlier response re 156 (and 361) - Looks like an error if we mapped Radio 5 Plus to 208 RTL Plus. Would need logs

So to summarize, I will refer the following lineup change requests to our provider:

Lineup “Kabel Deutschland Landshut Digital” changes

channel 103
Change from MNFRKN (Mainfranken) to “RTL Landshut”

channel 114
Change from MAINFRAN (Mainfranken HDTV) to “RTL Landshut HD”

channel 154
Add as “Radio Bayern 1” to correspond to kabel provider web page entry for “Bayern 1 (Oberbayern)”

Queries

  • How do you expect 156 ORF 2 and 156 Radio B5 Plus to be handled ?
  • Do we need to add 361 B5 Plus to the lineup?

Mappings

Delete the DVR and go through create DVR again and collect logs and screenshots if it is not right

Ah, I think we are on to something!

At Kabel Deutschland Channels numbers can be assigned TWICE. There is a Radio Channel list and a TV channel list.
101 - is Antenne Bayern as a Radio Station
101 - is ARD “Das Erste” in SD as a TV station

Would need to go through the list to see the issues for every channel but most likely Plex gets confused if a channel shows up twice? Do you have a complete channel list including Radio? I can try to export one from the fritz.box.
