Is this new generic guide data which only provides program information and not episode information as we used to get intended? If not, when will episode data again be provided? Without episode descriptions the guide is mostly useless.
Also, this release is pretty much as large of a disaster as the “December surprise” with many things not functioning and apparently a total lack of testing before release.
Read the threads or better yet, use the software. Do you not see all the same complaints? Do you people not research ANY of this on your own? Do you not test anything?
Note the two screen shots for two DIFFERENT episodes of the same show. It is a description of the PROGRAM, not the EPISODE as it has been. YIKES! This is what most every guide episode contains, generic program information as opposed to the episode information we used to get and makes an EPG.
Before you do, try suggestions 2 and 3 from that post.
If during the program guide migration we were not able to match your channel lineup, you may need to rebuild your DVR. Go to the Live TV & DVR settings in the Plex Web App and setup your DVR again.
Lastly, try a manual EPG refresh by going to the Live TV & DVR settings in the Plex Web App and click Refresh Guide .
Can you please get someone on this that understands things? This has nothing to do with matching channels or lineups. The data provided is insufficient in the “new guide”. It is not episode based.
PLEASE quit wasting more of our time trying to educate your employees.
Click on a show to bring up the details for that show. What do you see for the description of each episode? I’m seeing the same description used for every episode.
Edit - Just checking that you also see the same and that the problem is the EPG data and not the guide.
If you decide to take a personnalized XML… it doesn’t take the good information…
PMS with roku client doesn’t work… with no reason… PMS send data over LAN and grow the transfert speed over 100 mbps … and stop the stream…
Pixelisation issue with wintv tuner since 1.15 version… overs 5 month now…
And it’s never the fault of plex… always customers…
Seriously … since a few month i don’t like plex… i paid for a service and plex doesn’t offert this service…
So i’m stuck on 1.14 release… and on 30 june i will not having choice to update and having again… more problem…
And i have post multiple threads about this problem with screenshot and NO ANSWER since a few months… i think PLEX just wants our money and doesn’t care about customers…
Sorry … i loved plex since a few years now… but since few months… i’m not satisfied…
team development doesn’t test release i’m pretty sure…
So what you’re saying is the new guide data IS SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE an episode synopsis and other information as it did previously???
Also, get them working on the tuning failures. Just like the DECEMBER DISASTER, tuning to a station fails more often than not. SAME BEHAVIOR AND SYMPTONS so they should be aware. I believe they finally changed some timing parameters for the web exchange to the PMS.
Sounds like the new guide info is provided by Rovi and their crappy data, which eventually include mismatched season and episode numbers and constant generic episode info
That’s what I’m afraid of since no one will answer the direct question of “is your plan to provide proper episode details like synopsis, season/episode #, actors, …”
What the hell Plex? You broke the DVR…why? The EPG is now useless. Please please fix it. I’ve been a Lifetime Plex Pass user since it was available, I’ve recommended your DVR to HUNDREDS of people, customers and friends. We need an EPG that has ACCURATE episode dat which your new setup does not have. Your going to lose many if not all of your LiveTV DVR users if you dont. So please figure it out or at a minimum return our money.
Yes, once again, just like last December, they dump an untested release on the users and expect the us to identify all the problems while losing functionality and suffering through failures.
FORTUNATELY this time EMBY is my main DVR tool this time. I’ve only one user left on PLEX (my wife) and I try to review her recording choices and include them in my EMBY setup. PLEX may have finally pushed her to switch with this fiasco as well. They said in December that “they learned their lesson and were sorry for the confusion”. I guess we see today what that really meant to them
Do we even know WHY they switched guide data sources? And why is that such a tough thing to do? I fear there is much more to this story they’re not telling us, much as it was in December.
