I have a weird problem with the Batman TV Series. On first pass Library update Plex downloads all of the correct meta data for the show. The next time Plex updates the library, the Title is replaced with a generic name – all other meta data remains unchanged. For example, Season 2 Episode 37 is tagged as “The Zodiac Crimes”. The next time Update libraries is run the title changes to “Batman TV Series - Season 2: Disc 4”. The actual file name is “Batman TV Series - s02e37.mp4”
Any suggestions or do I need to manually update all of the titles? It seems Plex is trying to download the data correctly.

Well I solved the problem by turning off “Local Media Assets (TV)” under Settings / Agents / TV Shows. Upon the next “Update Libraries” the problem was solved. I don;t know why this only affected Batman and none of the other shows. Hopefully this fix is useful for someone else.

You should leave Local Media Assets checked, but move it to the bottom of your Agent Lists for Shows and Movies - all tabs. Simply drag and drop.
Local Media Assets is needed for Subtitles, Local Artwork, etc., but those things can be done from it’s position at the bottom of those lists. When at the top of those lists, embedded (and likely bogus) Title Fields inside MP4/M4V files is given top priority, messing up matches and names - not good.
