Battlestar Galactica (2003) bad matching using new TV agent

Hello,

I’m renaming my tv shows to follow the naming model with the new tv agent but i have issues with Battlestar Galactica (2003). I want to not change the file name but match using the folder name and tvdb or tmdb id. However, the match is on the “Mini-Series” but not pick the good version.

I tried the following name : Battlestar Galactica (2004) {tmdb-1972} & Battlestar Galactica (2003) {tvdb-73545} but none take the good show. I can manually fix the match but would like to use the “hard match” feature and not check after a full scan if i have to fix matching.

Fix match doesn’t fix “season/episode” numbering. You’ll need to either move the miniseries to its own show (and match it as such) or rename the miniseries to be Season 0 episodes 1 and 2. The first one is the one you want. The second is if you want the miniseries to live on its own.

It takes the “Mini Series” show even for the “regular” show. I changed manually to pick the 2005 version but don’t know why there is a “bad match” as files contain “Battlestar Galactica (2003)” and folder name has the tvdb ID which should provide a hard-match even when files don’t have the full plex naming convention.

Try taking the year off the title if you have not just chosen it with fix match. Something is odd with data as the first one has a title with 2003 but has a year of 2005. Gonna need to ping our metadata devs about it.

This matched immediately for me in a test library using the new agent set to TVDB ordering
Battlestar Galactica/Season 01/Battlestar Galactica S01E01 33.mkv

This is a tricksy one.

TMDB has the miniseries and the show as different entries. The miniseries date is 2003. The show date is 2005.

TVDB has both under one show called Battlestar Galactica (2003) even though the date for that show is 2005.

The “simple” fix (if you have it organized like TVDB) is to name the show Battlestar Galactica (2005) or Battlestar Galactica {tvdb-73545}

It’s basically down to the TVDB title being slightly mis-leading here.
