I have had the 1978 series of BG in my library for some time and it works great in a folder named Battlestar Galactica. I am trying to add the 2004 series to my library now. It’s in a folder named Battlestar Galactica 2004 since it can’t have the same folder name. It doesn’t get picked up in library scans since that name doesn’t register with IMDB (I assume.) How can I get it to show up properly in my library? Any workaround for it?
Both shows should have the year in the show folder (at a minimum)
They really should have the year in the episode titles, but it’s not always necessary
To further guarantee a match you can use the TVDB or TMDB show id.

Thanks for the assist. Te 2003 series showed up, but with black previews and no episode info. Same for using IMDB-tt0407362 that showed up for the series on IMDB. Any guesses why?
TVDB or TMDB id’s for TV shows
IMDB numbers are only for movies
No preview thumbnails and no episode info would indicate the show is appearing in the library but still not being matched to any online database
Use the exact naming I posted above for the folder names and see if you get a match
Actually I used the TVDB numbers as you supplied verbatim. The 1978 series came up, the 2003 came up with the correct season and episode count but nothing else. I tried looking it up on IMDB and it gave the tt that I posted for the series but no workee either.
Try checking to see if it matched, and if so refresh the metadata for that show
