Hi, I am using Plex on a QNAP NAS. I find that Plex works perfectly when streaming normal video content to the Android, or PC app, and via plex.tv. But I also use the BBC iplayer app installed in the channels section. But when I try to stream BBC content using the Plex App on Android I get “Error Playback stopped because the connection to the plex media server has been lost … etc retry” and also when I try using the Plex application on my laptop I get “Connection error HTTP error code 403”
However, I find that I can stream BBC content perfect via Plex.tv when using a web browser on my Android phone or on my laptop.
So the question. Why does bbc iplayer work great when using Plex.TV but not at all when using the official Apps?
All methods work fine when I am at home on a local network, but only the Plex.TV method works when I am travelling. I would love to know why this is.
