My Plex server is my late 2015 MacBook Air (2.2 GHz Intel Core i7). My service provider is CenturyLink and have their CenturyLink model C1100T combo modem/router. My typical internet speed is only about 1.5 Mbps. I live in a very remote area and that is the best speed I can get. Right now I am connected, via my home Wifi to my Apple TV (Gen 4) then via HDMI to my Panasonic Smart TV (1080). We can normally watch a program in my Plex library for only a few minutes before it stops and buffers for several minutes. Would I gain anything by connecting my router directly to the Apple TV by ethernet cable? Right now I have the ethernet cable from the router going to the smart TV. Thank you. I very much would appreciate your thoughts.
