On apple devices I can use prologue to download and listen to audiobooks seamlessly but on my android phone its very tricky to find a solution.
I do have store track progress enabled on that library but with the plex app if I download and audiobook to listen to offline it always jumps back to the start. On plexamp app if I download an audiobook it does store progress if Im online and my server is on but if I’m offline or my server is off it loses my place if I switch to listen to music.
I’ve tried Chronicle and it works to hold the place but seems to have problems with some files not playing or downloading.
I also tried the bookcamp app which I think is supposed to be like prologue but it just doesn’t work. It will load my library but won’t play them or download them so no use at all.
Hi, thanks for replying I took a look at that documetn you linked and I think my audiobooks on plex are set up correctly with perhaps a few issues with file types which I will correct. My problem with bandcamp turned out to be a Hairpin Nat issue but unfortunately I am unable to edit the DNS settings in my ISP’s router. So it looks like for the time being Chronicle is the best option.
Really hope Plex add better support and features for audiobooks someday, being able to remember where you last listened would be amazing!
Yeah I feel you. I’m trying to find a good solution for my girlfriend since she prefers android. I’m more the iPhone kind a guy and I don’t want to miss prologue.
