Beta for the new Audio Player on the Android mobile

I agree with you and don’t get me wrong I like Plex more than Emby but the poor decisions that they make are making me move to Emby little by little and I haven’t buy the Lifetime Plex pass because I want to support the company more with the monthly plan but man they have to start listening to the users a little bit more and give us more room to customize the home screen!!

Agreed on that and it would be quite simple for developers to publish planned list of features and allow registered (paying) users up/down vote them to direct the development process. I’ll personally take stability of existing feature base over fancy new additions that get me nothing. I already stored beta APK and server side software in case it becomes unavailable in the future. Current combo works for me, thank you. Keep it this way.

Guys take that talk to a new thread please. There is load of rooms on the forum for it. We are trying to fix bugs in the music player here

This sounds like a sync issue rather than something with the Music player. I’ll ask if it’s known :+1:

Another issue I’ve noticed quite often:

When casting, the main player screen is stuck on the previous song, even though the minimized player shows the correct song. Only fixed by reversing tracks, and skipping to the correct song again.

Same issue here, very annoying!

Were you able to confirm this has been reported? About 1/2 of my playlist is actually synced.

There are a number of reports of this error on the forums and it is being investigated.

I assume this has already been fixed with 7.10. At least I didn’t encounter this issue anymore. Thanks!

Player: 7.10.0.8745
Server: 1.14.1.5488

It seems that the information shown on the playback-info screen istn’t correct. The track which is playing is synced to the android device. In settings “prefer local content instead of streaming” is enabled:

This states that it’s direct played from NAS device. I’m sure it direct plays from local (Aquaris X5 Plus) because I’ve checked the consumed bandwith on the device and it surly didn’t direct play from remote.

When I play the track with “offline-browsing” enabled on it shows the correct info:

Can anyone from Plex-Team confirm this bug? It happes quite often and is very annoying. Thanks in advance!

Also @SamFromPlex did you talk to the Cast team about re-adding the repeat/shuffle buttons when casting? I still can only do so on the web while casting.

@SamFromPlex here is a bug I noticed. Not sure if it is technically a sync bug, or what…

When streaming music with quality set to original, it plays the expected bitrate.

When playing from the same synced music, it is much lower bitrate.

I noticed while syncing the album that Plex is converting it, but it should not be. Is this a known issue? Additionally, when playback is local, it incorrectly lists the server as the source. Thanks

When casting to Chromecast, PMS shows 2 instances playing instead of just the chromecast one:

hi
i use plex for flac stream. but when i play music on my android HIFI player,i found when i play 48KHz/96KHz/192KHz’s flac files plex convert music’s sampling rate to 44.1Khz, i play those file at original quality.

Is it a phone?

it’s a music player, HIBY R6 PRO

I know there is a few issues with the Android client know regard to casting. I’ll make sure the ones outlined here are tracked, but I don’t have any eta on when they will be actioned.
