@SamFromPlex just a heads up, casting an in-progress song still crashes (and also disconnecting from cast, and resuming at back on device)
Also latest update did not resolve intermittent background skipping (thus far only resolved by force stopping plex). I havenāt been able to recognize a pattern that causes this yet, to reproduce.
Oh! I thought weād fixed that so we havenāt looked at it again (we havenāt been able to reproduce it).
Can you please send some more logs next time it happens?
sigh it just cropped up again, here are the logs:
plex-log-d2dyno.zip (730.9 KB)
Only things I did was: disconnect from Bluetooth as I left my car, went into a restaurant to eat, connected their wifi (didnāt use plex), disconnected from their wifi, got back into my car.

If you want to shuffle an album, you should start playback with that button. Itās quicker.

Streaming still has a significant delay, after switching from wifi to lte. In this test, it only started after I ran a speed test. https://nextcloud.theiahd.nl/index.php/s/66tTfNxJ8yS9aws
Can you send me a log of that failure as well please?
Are you switching from a local WiFi connection (i.e. the same lan as the server) to a remote connection? Do you know if it uses relay or if it will be a direct connection when you access your server remotely?
Thanks! Any idea when Treble is coming to the TV side soon?
Treble is an audio player.
Lol I know⦠Sorry my question was ambiguous. The treble audio player is on the Android mobile side, but doesnāt appear to be on the Android TV side yet. Is it already available on the TV version, or will it be updated later?
Sorry, I donāt know that.

Android TV uses the same audio player, it is TREBLE.
One of my colleagues has the same phone (One Plus 6 wasnāt it?) and has been using the new player pretty regularly for a while and hasnāt noticed this particular problem at all.
Iām sorry if you mentioned it before, are you transcoding? If you are/arenāt and do the opposite does that mitigate the problem?
Just wondering if there is anything else we can determine that is different on your end which could be having an impact that might help us to repro the issue and try to figure out a fix. Thinking about things like battery saving apps/aggressive battery saving mode in Oxygen OS/custom ROM/headphones etc.
Library Radio still does not progress tracks automatically (proceed to next track) when casting. Must be skipped manually after each track is at -0:00 left.
Indeed, running stock OxygenOS.
I am not transcoding, but I have tried both with and without transcoding, with the same result.
Iāve had the issue on Bluetooth, phone speaker, and headphones, so it seemed to not be specific to any output I was using. I do have Magisk installed (a rooting application), and I have Viper4Android module installed, but that only modifies audio on 3.5mm headphone output, and is turned off for headphone/BT output. I also never had this issue with both old Plex for Android app, or other audio/video apps.

We have an open issue for that one, it might be a bug in the (Plex) receiver software on the Chromecast.

Yep, itās a new player so itās not surprising that the problem doesnāt occur with other apps. Not trying to pass the buck, just trying to find the cause
.
Thanks for the extra info. Iām trying to parse your logs here but there is a few days of data which makes it hard to pinpoint. Would it be a huge hassle to send logs with ~10 seconds of the error occurring and a time frame next time it happens?
Oh my bad
let me see if I can reproduce this now, and Iāll try to get some clean logs.
Got it plex-log-d2dyno.zip (661.5 KB)
3:59PM. What I did was hit X on the notification, reopen the app and resume. Not sure if that will reproduce it everytime though.
Has anyone noticed intermittent, slight popping while listening to music through earphones? I was just traveling and listening, and at least 2 or 3 times through each song towards the end of my trip, there would be different āpopsā throughout the song. I switched over to Tidal, thinking the issue was just my earphones, but Tidal didnāt have any popping.
Hello,
I have access to the beta forums now, but still now access through the play store to get the beta. How long does that usually take?
Iām on latest Android Beta, videos wonāt play remotely. Iām not at home at the moment, so canāt verify if they play locally. I can stream through chrome on same device, and if I select external player the video will play. Iām on Pixel 2 XL Android 9.
