It’s already in there.
Is there somewhere to turn it on? I have checked through the menus and haven’t found an option to do it.
The playlists are all just playing the songs back to back, no crossfading.
Furthermore @SamFromPlex I am still seeing issues migrating to LTE from WiFi. I took a video of the issue here: https://i.imgur.com/vOEvkxs.gifv
Weird bug, I’ll make sure it’s on the radar, thanks for confirming it’s not fixed!
Yes, we only just added that functionality, and I remember seeing some talk about it. Any further changes would need to be discussed internally.
- if you add a song as next to the queue, that new song is not cached until playback of current track ends.
I’ll make sure that issue is tracked, thanks!
if a library goes offline, it’s position in the app is not respected. For example, in this screen, TheiaHD is supposed to be at the top, as I had previously set it. But when it went offline, then came back, it’s position is reset and must be fixed everytime that happens.
This is unrelated to the audio player, but we are aware of a number of issues with the source picker and are working on them.
I am still seeing issues migrating to LTE from WiFi.
From what I can see in this video, the steps are:
- Disable WiFi
- Skip forward until the the current item isn’t buffered
- Nothing plays?
I’ve tested that scenario a few times, and the scenario of walking away from WiFi naturally and letting the connection change as you mentioned earlier in the post, and I’ve not had any problems.
This makes me think that the issue may be the app + server connection not gracefully switching rather than the player. I think you sent me some logs about this earlier. I’ll try to find some time to examine them today-ish. Do you use relay for remote connections or is it direct?
The only possibility to rate an individual track is if it’s being currently played. There seems no way in doing so if I navigate to a track via search for example. Is this intended behavior? Regards
Just installed the latest Beta (7.8.0.8095) from Playstore. Now I can’t log into my account anymore. Tried via cellular and WIFI, rebooted device uninstalled/reinstalled Plex: no luck.
Is this only me or do others have the same problem? BTW: usig Plex web seems to work fine.
Please forward me some logs?

The mobile apps don’t have functionality to rate items while browsing, you can on the website though!
Ok, than I’ll file a Featurerequest
Regarding the login/account issue: after desperately trying for minutes it just started to work again ![]()
Thanks for the Help
After returning home after 45 minutes I’ve noticed that 500 MB of my data-voulume has been soaked up by plex
@holger, regarding this, we’ve been testing and when switching from WiFi to cellular things start transcoding as expected. We tested with the "Use low quality on cellular" setting and without and the result is the same.
We are going to add some more logging to the playback engine, once that’s in I’ll need to get some more logs from you so we can try and find out what’s going on.
I must admin, I never used "Use low quality on cellular" I thought if "Remote streaming" is set to 320kbps it would transcode anyway at least FLAC wouldn’t direct play.
Both should result in a transcode if you aren’t on the same network as your content.
Any more thoughts on this @OttoKerner ?
Sorry, I was wrong. It hasn’t been added yet.
Thanks @OttoKerner
Correct, those are the steps. I only threw speedtest in there, to show that LTE connection is live/strong (IE not dead). I only do direct connection, no relay or indirect connection to Plex server.
Additionally, Library Radio casting, still does not progress to the next song when the current song ends. I must manually trigger a track skip while casting, in order for another song to play. I thought this had been resolved? I am on the latest release (which IIRC was a public, non-beta release). Tested just now on a Chromecast Audio device.
I joined the beta yesterday and installed it on my Pixel 2XL. Here is what I have so far in the first 24 hrs. I apologize if any of this was already reported. I also installed the update from earlier today off the Google Play store.
This beta is FAR above the player currently on Android. On the whole, everything seems much smoother.
I usually listen to my Android in my car, so this 1st report is going to be all about Android Audio. Gapless playback is a dream! Ive driven about 5 hrs in the last 24, and was in areas that usually I would get no signal and the player would stop. It’s been flawless with the beta. Again, this is a dream come true for the Android player. the team has done a great job!
So, when I pick a playlist off the Android Auto interface, it starts to play, BUT, the three dots on the rightsize of the Android Audio interface, used to get to 10 second back, shuffle, etc, are not there. I have to go into the player on the phone, tap on the bottom section that is greyed out and then switch the shuffle on from there.
The work around is this. start the playlist, the dots disappear, skip to the next song, the dots appear and you can go in and hit shuffle from the Android Auto interface.
Ill continue to use it and report anything I see and hang around here and read the posts.
Thanks
EB
I too would love to see the crossfading as well as the volume equalization that is in PLEXamp … Now if they can add that in to the Android player, it would be fantastic!
Yep, we still have an open bug report about this. We fixed other cases around this issue but haven’t been able to reproduce this one specifically, which makes it hard to fix. Did this happen with the old player? ![]()
Well I have reproduced it across 4 devices:
- OnePlus 6 - Android 9
- OnePlus 3T - Android 8
- HTC One M9 - Android 6
- Google Nexus 7 (2013) - Android 6.0.1
What are you using to reproduce? Are you sure you are casting to a chromecast device, followed by selecting Music>Stations>Library Radio?
