Thanks, I think this may be related to an issue we’re tracking regarding certain shows not getting updated. It’s our top priority right now, will let you know when we have progress on this.
Hmm, looks like poster that was removed from TVDB but we’re still referencing - I’ll investigate this a bit more.
I’ll give it a try. But prior to the new scanner, naming them Season00.jpg worked fine.
The old agent may have allowed this but I believe the new one is a little more strict on its rules and https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220717-local-media-assets-tv-shows stays
If you’re specifying the poster for a “Specials” season, use `season-specials-poster` instead.
I feel like if they’re going to be more strict, it makes more sense to stick strictly by naming them “Season00.jpg” since specials go into a “Season 00” folder already and that the specials themselves are named “S00E01,” “S00E02,” and that’s the poster naming standard for all other seasons. But whatever.
Thanks for the tip, it seems to work.
I don’t have many Specials now anyway, since most my Specials were actually things like BTS featurettes that’ll be named as Extras going forward, but at least that’s one less thing I need to manage/change from within Plex.
Is there a good way to debug metadata differences from what the Plex scanner provides vs what is in TVDB/TMDB? Here is my current head scratcher:
Show: Expedition Back to the Future
Studio: Discovery+
TVDB-ID: 397809
TMDB-ID: 120932
IMDB: tt14251550
All providers show real episode names and have a show poster. TVDB also has a (text laden) background, and TMDB has cast references, but none of these show up in Plex currently (I currently have TMDB set for episode ordering). I’ve tried rematching with the db codes (ie “tvdb-397809” or “tmdb-120932”) but it did not change.
Any idea why there is a discrepency? Thanks!
In my case this show has no posters as well.
Will the new scanner add support for more than just the 2 TheTVDB orders? I spent a fair amount of time on TheTVDB’s BluRay order for The Office and I can’t use it: The Office (US) - Alternate DVD Order - All Seasons - TheTVDB.com
Said logs
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-03-19_15-48-42.zip (1.6 MB)
Don’t know if this has been reported by anyone else, but since I activated this Plex agent, some TV shows that were removed from DECK as I had not watched for quite some time (4 weeks in my case), they have appeared.
Looks like it’s there now.
A potential bug fix for an issue we have with certain updates not happening was deployed a little earlier today that may have resolved this one.
It’s on our list of things we want to look into.
Ah, you’ll need to enable debug logging first and then let some scans run again. The logs you posted aren’t useful without it.
To enable that just go to Settings → [Your Server] → General → Enable Plex Media Server debug logging. If you don’t see that option just ensure you have “Show advanced” enabled.
After that you’ll need to reproduce your issue again so it can log the information and then grab new logs.
It’s a known issue, unrelated to the new agent. It will just happen if you change agents on items in general.
Yes it is appearing now, thank you for the update.
Can confirm as well, all metadata has now successfully received for the show.
Thanks for reporting this, it should be fixed now.
This looks like its fixed now, and in fixed I mean it’s correctly not returning any season poster as TVDB doesn’t have any.
This looks to be resolved now but please confirm on your end.
