[BETA] New Plex TV Series Scanner

4 posts were split to a new topic: Display of multi-episode files inside Plex

Private message sent with logs, but for the followers of the thread, while refreshing metadata on an individual episode did not resolve the issue, refreshing metadata at the show level (it doesn’t appear you can refresh at the season level) DID pull in all the episode thumbnails. @gregor.smith you might want to try that as well if you haven’t already…

I have never seen the episode refresh work no matter the TV agent/scanner - and have seen plenty of other threads mention having to use the series refresh so I think that’s a Plex bug vs new scanner bug.

Terrible for norwegian stuff, its all over the place where it collects info.

Also like the new movie scanner it defaults to norwegian bokmål (nb-no) and not norsk/norwegian no-no like with the old agent.

Also i lost all mandolarians seasons posters that were special.

No ty!

If you like particular posters and set them manually, it seems to remember them. Any posters I added myself via the GUI have stayed in place no matter how many times I’ve flipped agents\scanners and refreshed metadata for tests.

custom theme music not working on tv beta had to revert back to the old scanner to fix custom theme music to work

Custom theme music is supported, how is yours named exactly?

theme.mp3 and its put in the main folder of the show it plays the original not the custom one

id like to note im also on a synology dsm 920+ im not sure if thats a problem too

Having an issue using this specifically with shows with UK counterparts. For example:

RuPaul’s Drag Race is the main series based in the USA which has another version titled RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, obviously in the UK. Even if these shows are in separate directories (they are), they scan as the same show (in this case RPDR US) and the UK files are shown as duplicated of the corresponding episodes in the main series. The name has happened with NXT and NXT UK.

Is there a setting that might work where I can adjust this, or is it a bug?

You should be able to split the shows. Then fix match them to each show you want. I done something similar with the two haunting mini series.

Unfortunately that’s not an option since it’s the individual episodes that won’t allow me to split them apart and then match them individually. I also shouldn’t need to go that since it worked just fine with the Legacy scanner.

Since you say they are in different folders you should be able to split at the show level and then fix match.

You’re correct, my bad. That did the trick but hopefully there’s a better fix for this issue coming. Don’t want to have to do this with each new episode.

so it plays when its unmatched but then it gets replaced by the plex ones so unmatched the custom theme music works but matched it changes is there anthing i can
do?

Best is to add the year to the show folder.

So tested it and it works as expected for me.

Have you got the “Use local assets” option selected?

Thanks for the feedback, we’ll look at adding back no-no as an option.

I’ve opened a ticket internally with a suggestion for this. It’s unfortunately not super simple as sources like TVDB only return Norsk bokmål (nb-NO) whereas TMDB only returns the macro language no-NO. We’ll have to add some logic to catch all under no-NO.

I’m having an issue with watched not working, but if you toggle the function it will work as expected on LG Smart TV.

Marked played but will not comply till.

Not Watched >> Watched = Plays correct Episode

This is from a newly created Library with new Scanner.

MacOS 11.2.2

Server Version 1.22.0.4145

Are you saying if you watch something to the end it’s not getting marked as played?

Does this happen only on your TV or does it happen on other clients too?
