The Problem: Security on this feature is not great. Anyone watching can figure out the pin – inlcuding my 5 year old, no matter how clever a pin or how quickly I enter it.
The Solution: Make it more difficult to guess the pin entry. Needs to be a solution which doesn’t require me to tell everyone in the room to look away. These suggestions should be simple to implement:
- Have an option/setting to disable the asterisk from being filled on each number entry.
- Have an option/setting to disable sounds on each number entered.
- Optionally, allow entry from the keypad on my remote. I use Plex on my Roku and have a universal remote so this is likely a fringe case.
Please consider this: If the entry of the pin can be guessed simply by watching the tv, there is little point in having the pin.
