Black Gold BGT3650 Quad Tuner only allows DVB-C

I am testing the BGT3650 on a Windows 7 x64 (SP1) platform (Athlon X2 3GHz, 4GB RAM). The device is installed with BDA drivers v 9.1.0.5 and is working correctly in Windows Media Centre. Current Plex version is 1.8.4.4249.

Plex DVR setup detects it as 2 dual DVB-C (Cable) tuners, this card is actually DVB-C, DVB-T and DVB-T2 capable but as it is only detecting the DVB-C portion of the card it cannot tune into any OTA channels.

The logs show:

THis seems to show that the card is being correctly identified as both a DVB-C and DVB-T/T2 tuner card however the only tuner source available to scan is Cable:-

Is there any way to force Plex to allow DVB-T/T2 to be selected.

I do not run Windows, but I remember a post where DVB-T in Australia was mentioned, and there seem to be data files in some directory user windows that define the scanning capabilities. Maybe you can fiddle with these… They had numbers and describe a region and transponders to tune (which result in the parameter that are used in the tuning API to tune to a channel).

Do you have to “configure” the device maybe first, with the manufacturers software/driver what it is supposed to be (DVB_C or T) ?

Thanks for the reply, I will try and track down the files you mentioned.

There is no configuration utility or driver settings the driver just exposes both DVB-C and DVB-T tuners and the software using them selects which tuner to use as it is entirely possible to use 2 DVB-C tuners and 2 DVB-T tuners at the same time if the software using them allows (plesk does not currently allow mixed tuners).

Sorry to hijack thread… how did you get PCie tuners to show at all … I have blackgold tuner in the machine?

Yes, the tuners show but I am registered as a community tester they only showed up after I registered.

If you aren’t a tester then I guess you won’t be able to detect them until after the bugs are worked out.

Hello - I have the same Black Gold 3650 tuner - I’ve just signed up for the plex pass and was hoping to be able to setup the DVR function, but the card isn’t recognised - was there any progress towards supporting these types of card?

Hi, sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I’m having the exact same problem. Black Gold 3650 is only being recognised in the UI as a cable tuner.

Roger - did you ever sort your issues?

Thanks
