I’ve been experiencing for a long while now, as I get towards the end of a piece of media, the screen flashes to black, and then after about 10 seconds flashes to black a second time. Each black flash lasts for around 2 seconds. This happens regardless of it being a movie or tv show, and regardless of file format and codecs, at around the 90% completion mark of the media regardless media duration. It only happens on my Nvidia Shield Pro (2019). I can watch the same media on Roku, Web, or Android phone without any issues. Other media apps on my Shield don’t exhibit this behavior, only Plex does.
Any thoughts on what can be causing this?
On the server if in Settings>Library if you change the “Video Played Threshold” does when it happen change? Like if you change it to 70% does it happen then?
Thanks for the test suggestion. I changed that value from 90% to 70% and confirmed on the Shield the black flashes now occur at the 70% completion mark instead of 90% as before.
Ok . Also wanted to see if any of these settings also affect it.
In Android TV player Settings>Player Experience either Skip Credits or Show Up Next. Both can kick in when the item is considered “finished” so wondering if it might be for a split second thinking either applies.
But we may just need to see the android tv logs.
I tried disabling both options and I didn’t notice any change in behavior; the black flashes remained.
I’ve attached the logs. In this example, starting around 12-12 21:07, I fast forwarded to just before the 90% mark and then play through the 2 black flashes and then stop playback.
