Hello.
My “Other Videos” type libraries were set to:
Scanner: “Plex Video Files”
Agent: “Personal Media”
It worked as expected by NOT modifiying my carefully set (in underlying filesystem) filenames and importing titles as-is.
In recent updates, something breaks backwards compatibility yet again and I find myself unable to edit properties of any similar type library, presented with “Your changes could not be saved.” dialog error.
Logs show that my combination of scanner & agent is apparently illegal now:

Now, I am only able to select these combinations (scanner + agent):
- “Plex Video Files” + “Plex Personal Media”
- “Plex Video Files Scanner” + “Personal Media”
and both of them instead of original filename produce title based on some container tag string, not sure “Movie Name” or “Comment” as seen via MediaInfo app.
Looks like my only choices are to break my metadata or never be able to edit library properties. Not sure how to proceed…
Honestly, 3rd option of writing own scanner&agent (in hopes that nothing touches established metadata in the future) is what I was thinking about for years, if this is still possible. Maybe someone may point me in the right direction how to clone existing ones so I could modify for my usecase? or there is still zero docs on this and I’m on my own?
