Pulling my hair out…
I am not getting proper metadata after moving the location of a library. As the item name it is putting the path in the file system to where the item is, not the expected metadata and not even the file name itself.
So…I wandered over to the wiki to refresh my memory on how all that works. I was expecting to see “Plex Movie” as the agent for that library. It wasn’t. It was “Plex Movie Scanner”. OK, so I’ll just switch it. Nope. I get the dreaded “Changes can’t be saved” message.
I am doing all this with a small library on purpose. It only has 12 items in it, but I am having this issue on multiple libraries. If I delete the library entirely, do the Plex dance and create a new library (tried with both same name and new name) with the same outcome. Not only can I not change the scanner, but I continue to get nothing but the folder path as the description. HOWEVER, if I delete the library entirely and recreate it, once it starts to scan it does briefly show the correct/actual file name. By the time the library is done updating it all go to the folder name as the title…![]()
I have also rebooted the Win10 Plex server multiple times to no avail. It is starting to sound something like this SSL issue that broke the YouTube scanner months ago…
…which was subsequently fixed with a Plex server update. That got me thinking maybe I need to roll back a version since an update came out a few days ago. Rolled it back to v 1.32.5.7318. No difference.
I’m kind of scratching my head here…
EDIT: the icing on the cake: if I choose a single media item and choose “Fix Match” it almost immediately matches properly. If I click on the title it thinks for a few seconds, but still displays the folder path only…![]()
