So I made an Ubuntu desktop as my Plex Media Server back when I lived on the east coast and used it to watch movies with friends via synclounge (also hosted on that machine) and had no issue. Ever since moving to the west coast however, just my player will constantly buffer/run out of buffer while watching with my east coast friends, even though we all use the same quality settings. When I check the Plex dashboard, they all have a solid buffer that stays about the same length, while mine slowly shrinks until we all need to pause while I buffer. I hosted a speedtest on the same machine too to see what speeds my client was getting from the Plex media server, and I was getting around 200 Mbps, so I have no idea how buffering keeps happening to just me when watching an 8 Mbps stream. Does anyone have any steps I could take to gather more info/debug?
