Buffering every 4:09 on Xbox One X

Server Version#: 1.16.1.1291
Player Version#: 2.35.1.70
X-Plex-Platform-Version => 10.0.18362.5047

I’m playing a 4k HDR (x265) video with a 7.1 audio track on my Xbox One X. Every 4:09 it will buffer, and never restart. Looking at the logs on my PC, with hardware acceleration enabled, there doesn’t appear to be any issues transcoding. (Speed averages around 9. Lowest dip I saw was 6 something) The Xbox is connected wirelessly to the network, via 802.11ac on a 5 Ghz band. Nothing else seems to have network issues, and is fine when I play 1080p content. Can someone clue me in where to look as to figure out why this is happening? Thanks!

Did it just start doing this w/ the latest Xbox One update and or the PMS version you have? I have not updated either yet because all my stuff works. I rarely update in any case.

I’m not sure. I’m just starting to play more 4k content.

The problem is that Plex has never solved their issues with playing 4k content on the Xbox platform. It’s been being “worked on” for years. Just use the search to see, the solution is to use a different client. Most people recommend a Nvidia Shield.

Same issue, Plex devs are ignoring the many posts on the Xbox forums saying the same thing about buffering with 4k HDR.
