Buffering issues since latest update?

I tried to watch a movie tonight and noticed that shortly after start of playback, buffering starts. When this happens, the otherwise stable bandwidth drops to around 1Mbps and stays there.

I am on a local, gigabit network with stable connection. This setup has been working for months before today. I am experiencing this issue with all my movies, usually 30-90 seconds into starting playback.

I had this issue after initially setting up the Plex server. Back then switching off LSO (Large send offload) solved the issue. Now I have verified, LSO is still off, but the symptoms are very similar.

Restarted the computer hosting Plex, restarted the Apple TV, no change.

Any ideas what went wrong this time?

Oddly enough, switched LSO back on, and issue seems to be gone…

Update: no, it’s not resolved, it’s a hit and miss, most of the time not working (testing using the same movie).
