Player Version#: Multiple versions, multiple players
For the past 4-5 months I have been having lots of buffering issues. I assumed it was because my PC was not powerful enough as I kept getting issues saying that my PC was not powerful enough. I enounter this on multiple Fire TV’s and my Nvidia Shield (which I have hard wired into my network)
I finally got fed up and built a new PC. It’s an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, 32GB RAM, and Nvidia 2070 Super video card. I have a Google Mesh Wifi system and I have the NAS and my PC hardwired into the network. I have Gigabit internet and I do achieve those speeds. The Fire TV is on Wifi but within 3 feet of the Google Wifi point.
I am not dealing with 4k video, only 1080p and 720p video. I am streaming this from my PC, but the files themselves are on a NAS on the same network. My connection speed to the NAS is well over 25MB per second, so I can’t see why that’s an issue either.
This doesn’t happen with all movies, and it doesn’t happen all the time. Even after this new PC build I am still having these same issues with the same movie files. My Plex Dashboard and the Fire TV says it’s just direct playing the files but they’re still stuttering. I have the logs but I don’t know what I should be looking for. I can post more of the logs if needed. Can someone please help me? I’m going crazy over here…
