I have a LG TV (OLED65GX6LA) connected to the router through cable Ethernet, like my Apple TV and my Plex media server.
I thought I could use it as all in one as it has Apple TV plus and airplay too, but I can’t because of the Plex app.
The Plex app on my brand new LG (OLED65GX6LA) is constantly buffering making the experience a nightmare.
The Plex app on the Apple TV 4K, same tv show and movie (1080) is perfectly working, never saw a buffering message or any issue.
I have Virgin Media, fibre 150Mbps and I repeat everything is connected with cable.
Can you please fix the app on WebOs?
The content was using the HEVC codec at 1080p, and webOS on 03.10.44
So, it seems to be a “transcoding” issue. I tried to change the settings from the Plex Server web admin page, but without any luck.
Do you know where I can provide feedback about the app? I would love to know if it’s planned to add the H265 / HEVC codec natively to the Plex client app on LG WebOS. Or should LG WebOS provide it?
Any feedback?
My LGCX keeps buffering too. I also have a problem where it won’t pass the Atmos audio to my receiver through ARC. My Shield will pass Atmos through ARC from the tv to the reciever. My shield works fine, but there’s no option to transcode DTS to Dolby and far as I know and DTS is played as 2 channel. I have an onkyo tx-nr1030. All my devices are connected with Ethernet through a Netgear r7800 x4s router and a tp link switch.
Thanks guys for replying, hopefully we’ll capture some Plex developers’ attention. I was going to start the subscription, but I’ll wait for this fix. Hopefully we’ll get a fix in one of the next releases, just weird there isn’t/I could find any official feedback from any Plex developers. Anyway, I bypassed this problem using the native DLNA client on my new LG (not the same nice UIs, but at least no buffering)
