Plex on WebOS 1.4 has become unusable on LG 65UB950V - constant buffering

Server Version#: 1.18.3.2156-349e9837e
Player Version#: 2.1.3 (21.8.2019) / according to Plex Webinterface: Plex for LG 3.13.28

I do realise that WebOS 1,4 is not the most recent Version but my TV (LG 65UB950V)supports 4K so I am happy with it.
Unfortunately Plex has become unusable with it constantly buffering every 30-40 seconds (!). The TV is connected via LAN cable but the problem also exists with WiFi. I stream most movies in native 1080p so there is no transcoding.
N.B. I tried watching movies of my NAS using the XPlay App which works without issues but the interface just isn’t Plex. Also, connecting a FireTV 4K Stick works perfectly (via WiFi) but blocks a much the needed 4K HDMI Port.
Since two other methods work, I am assuming the issue lies with the WebOS App.
Any suggestions as to how to solve this problem? Is there any setting I need to change?
Thank you in advance for any help.

At one time I had a very similar model and the Radio card went on the fritz and repairs were not a sensible solution. I bought a LG 65OLED and never looked back.

You have a couple cheaper options:

  1. Purchase a HDMI switch / Splitter . Use your Fire stick

or a better option 1 +
2. Buy a Roku 4K

End of life support for WebOS 1.4 is rapidly approaching if not already here.

Please note all updates to WebOS is for WebOS 2+

Oh thank god i’m not the only one with Buffering issues Streaming on a 100mbps Wired Network line and it all started last 1-2 months. Can’t direct Play a 4K/HEVC movie without buffering at least one or without losing it’s audio mid-movie. Doens’t matter either if it’s a 1080p Bluray movie. All these happen on Direct Play and also noticed it on Transcoding.

Try turning off Hardware acceleration in server settings or the new setting disable video stream Trans coding. The later only available in server version: 1.18.5.2260 and above.
