Continuation of some topics that have been closed because I got busy…
Since Android version 8.17, if there is a 4K file (either DV or HDR) present the 4K file will buffer forever if audio or subtitles need transcoding. I have tested this with movie libraries and TV libraries.
This time I have prepared sample files: Plex Sample Files - Google Drive

To Replicate:
- Place both files in the same folder/Library
- Make sure the either Audio or Subtitles need transcoding. (easiest way is to change passthrough to Optical and select “AC3”)
- Play 4K version.
Observed behavior should be forever buffering. Playing the 1080p file will play instantly even if transcoding audio.
If you need anything else, please ask. I would like this resolved after dealing with this for a year!
