i have my own settings to update my film data in german.
so i get the german age ratings for the respective movies.
there are 3 ways to update the data. 1 works the others 2 cause problems
you go into the film folder click on one or more movies, then right click and update meta data. NO ERROR: here the correct age restrictions of the German database are adopted.
right click on the film folder and say update meta data. ERROR: here the whole meta data will be reset to the original first setting and the german settings will be overwritten.
the automatic meta data update after several hours. ERROR: here it is exactly the same the german age restrictions are overwritten with the english or default settings.
i bet nobody has thought of such a small thing but i have children and need the age setting.
Plex Media Server has a cache of the most recent information it downloads from the internet. In that first image, you are refreshing the entire library. There is probably more movies in your library than can be cached, so it will retrieve new data from the internet for every movie. This is expected. In your second image, you are doing 1 movie. If the information for this movie was downloaded recently, it will reuse the data so nothing changes in your library. Again, this is expected.
To get the correct age ratings, was your library set to German when you first added the movie? If not, Plex will use the language you defined.
I’ve chosen these settings. 1. german film title. 2. age restrictions = fsk
this is the settings of plex movie about the countries settings. chosen is austria. i don’t know if this causes the error because austria is a german speaking country and i don’t know if it changes when i choose germany.
so my setting is when i look in the assignment and there is german set.
i still find it highly confusing that there are two types of settings. one meta data setting for single cell films and the second for automatic updating.
The OFDB agent was not made by Plex so I have no idea if it is doing things properly or not. You might want to bring this up with the developer and see if they are aware of any issues that could cause this.
