[BUG] Android Mobile plays back video at double speed

all my setup is as default since. i uninstall every release and install the new one. login up to my server

settings quality plex client nightly
here are the setup

i’m in the same network, NOT remote. on wifi
is a simple 720p h.264 aac
trascoding

Just to update, it does seem a lot better, but I see the same faults on mobile as I do on my FireTV stick with the same files as per Android: New video demuxer for improved playback - #12 by e10kstarfire

@sixones Happening on the shield as well, with current beta. Will this build load on there? May be a little different as I have to force transcode on there to fix the double speed problem.

Any update on getting this fixed please Plex support?

i have installed the version 8…23.1 since ages. lol

This is a Biggy with numerous family having the issue on different devices. Please have a look at it guys.

Latest beta seems to resolve this if you haven’t tried it yet.

I tried to update to beta last week, Google Play just didnt seem to update and android clients. But today, trying ā€œwatch from beginningā€ worked for the first time, so I wonder if beta has be pushed to prod?

I need to check my client versions and see if things are now fixed properly!

Where can you get the beta for android? I don’t see it listed under the plex pass downloads.

On beta i tried 8.30.0.31021 and the issue are again here when click automatically convert.

I really don’t understand why Plex don’t run apps through test suites before releasing…

i’ll stick with 8.23( 8.23.1.28053) version that is the last one without problem
i’m tired of this.
i hope they don’t force me to update app client for newer server version restriction
before they DEFINITELY FIX this ISSUE…that is ongoing for AGES

Same problem here. Samsung Galaxy S8 (yes, an ā€œoldā€ phone now) on Android 9. App version 8.29.1.30697 and running a server on a QNAP TS-451+ with QTS 5.0.0.1932 and Plex 1.25.6.5577.

I have tried turning the server side ā€œconvert automaticallyā€ on and off, and it makes no difference. If the video plays from the start, it’s usually okay. If resuming, forget it; it plays as fast as it can.

You fixed it, then broke it again.

Running latest beta 8.31.0.31215 on Pixel 3a and playback speed is double speed.

As before setting ā€œAutomatically adjust qualityā€ to off resolves.
