Starting this week pretty much all my artist images are getting replaced by album artwork. Seems like it’s happening during the maintenance metadata refresh. I did not change any setting since forever. Except for “Artist Bios” I only use local files for album artwork and embedded metadata. I don’t have any artist.jpg in my folders (not sure if this is even supported)
What is inside the folders? How are the images inside these folders named?
Nothing besides *.flac and Cover.jpg
How are the folders structured? Do you have a separate artist folder and then album folders inside those? Are the Cover.jpg files inside the album folders?
I have no artist folder and Cover.jpg is in the album folder. (where else?)
/Music/ARTIST - [YEAR] - ALBUM/
I know this is not by Plex standards, it just worked for the last 10+ years and shouldn’t matter since all information should be derived from metadata. The issue came up pretty much with the last update to 1.27 this week (updated from 1.25.x)

The way music metadata is handled was completely rewritten in 1.27.0 so it’s expected that a few odd cases may pop up even though we did test things extensively, we cannot test for every single conceivable setup.
I’ll take a look at this and see if I can reproduce the problem.
