This issue seems to be known and discussed between @beckfield and @OttoKerner for quite some months. All details in the now closed thread below. I still face the same issue. When can this be fixed?

Using unraid and have been seeing the same thing for months. Everything is perfectly tagged with images I like better than what Plex Music finds. Even have settings all set to prefer embedded tags and local metadata.
You raise a separate bug, which would also be critical to get resolved.
Artist artwork - currently not picked up at all locally. Used to work years back, but stopped working over a year ago.
Album artwork - very flakey and unclear whether and what gets picked up. Seems inconsistent and broken.
@OttoKerner, any chance to get a reaction whether these bugs are known and being worked on? In the current status, the music library is not well useable as artist and album covers are quite a mess. Thanks for considering!
