[BUG] Broken synchronization for managed users from the UNO web interface

Plex-Web UNO

Since the change to the WEB UNO interface, it is no longer possible to synchronize from a managed user any file from the WEB interface. This stays in “waiting to be converted …” indefinitely.

I really do not know if it happens on the other servers or only happens on the Nvidia Shield server but this has been happening since it was changed to the WEB ONE interface and until today it has not been solved.

Honestly for me it was very comfortable to be able to open my web browser and be able to add synchronized elements on my children’s tablet without physically accessing it.

I hope you can solve it, greetings.

Updated the server and we remain the same … Managed users cannot synchronize anything through the WEB ONE interface…

There was an issue with shield (and freebsd) PMS but that was fixed in 1.18.6.2348, it does seem similar to what you describe though!

The web app shouldn’t really matter much, the status and errors come from the server!

Can you post the server log when you see the “waiting to be converted happening”? Something bad probably happened while converting the file.

I’m sorry I can’t send the server log as soon as I have free time to devote to this, I’m sorry. I can only describe the situation, if I synchronize from web one any file from a managed user I know that it remains indefinitely in “waiting to be converted” even when I know that it does not need to be converted because if I put it to synchronize from the tablet, download it directly.

From the main user it works perfectly.

This was already happening since the first versions of WEB UNO, in fact, in order to be able to synchronize from the managed user, I accessed the local nvidia server 192.168 … to use the old web interface that worked perfectly in this case until it was replaced by WEB UNO.

I have deleted the managed user and created another, without success, I have tried with a guest that the same thing happens. It doesn’t synchronize … I always speak from WEB ONE.

In short … from WEB ONE you can only start synchronizing items from the main user.

Does it only happen if the server is nVidia or any server if you start it from the web app? I can’t seem to repo this and the server is in fact where all possessing happens;

And what about other apps? Can you repo with a mobile app?

I’m sorry I don’t know what you mean.
The server is a Nvidia Shield Tv 2017 dedicated only to plex server with a small domestic library.

For example:
I take my lenovo tablet or an Ipad and from the android application or ios I can synchronize a movie, a collection or a series, it works perfectly and synchronizes perfectly.

But if I try from a PC (WEB ONE https://app.plex.tv/ or http://192.168.0.2:32400), synchronize on the same tablet or on the same ipad the same content does not synchronize.

I just realized that in the movies from the poster menu Menu poster does not synchronize.
But from the menu of the description of the movie Menu Descripcion works perfectly.

On the other hand, in the series and collections, it only synchronizes from this button Menu Descripcion only from the description of the chapter or the movie.

Sounds like you answered all the questions thought, it does not happen in the other apps, and only server at play is the nvidia one, If it was happening on other apps it could be a bunch of things (server bug, or maybe mishandle of the pref set to the user to allow sync)

I will experiment with what you just said. Just another quick question does this happen with ANY managed user? Or if you only have one which profile is it?

Thank you very much for your interest, I have tried with different managed users even with a guest user. I only see that it works correctly from the main user.

Ok I can repo with a new managed (Teen) user!

And I see some oddness in logs! It seems the web app is indeed doing something wrong, best guess is the request to PMS is malformed, but I’ll investigate this further now tha I can repo!

Hum odd this still fails for me!

To be sure I understood you mean using the “Sync” button on the pre-play page of any movies WORKS! But using the context menu option while browsing all movies doesn’t?

I feel my bad English, I am using a translator …

This “button” does not work correctly:

And this one only works from the pre-play page, it works for both 1 movie or 1 chapter, but that same button if you are viewing for example two movies of the same collection or the seasons of a series or the chapters of a season then it no longer works

@mikec_pt I see a similar issue. If I use the drop down in the home page on a show/movie artwork it will not start converting. If you go directly the content and use the sync option outside of the artwork then it works fine. I’m updated to 1.18.7.2415-9930aef45.x86_64
