I’m browsing images and videos from a media server with an Android app, but when the directory hierarchy of folders reaches a depth of 3 or more, I can’t open the folders after that.
Until recently, I was able to browse normally.
Which device and which version number of app are you using. Also the version number of your Plex Media Server
Media server : 4.100.1
Android app : 9.21.1.1169
Device : Galaxy S22
Is this a photo library with videos in it? or a photo library and an “other videos” library. Just trying to add as much info to bug report as possible
It’s a photo library.
I also tried uninstalling, but it didn’t help.
Server Version#: 4.100.1
Player Version#: 9.23.0.1746 (80d0211)
Having an issue accessing subfolders in the music library on the Android mobile app.
For example: folder for jazz can be opened, subfolders for a jazz artist can be opened, subfolder for an album cannot be opened. I can long press on it and get options for play, shuffle, etc. New issue. It seems rolling back to a prior version of the app fixes the problem. Not an ideal solution. Seems like a new issue this spring.

So you don’t have a Library for Jazz? You are using folders for Genres?
Sounds like the same issue as this. 【BUG】Can't open media server folder with Android app but would like you to confirm before i merge the topics
I have folders for genres in the music directory.
for example : music/jazz/artist/album
it does sound similar to the bug mentioned.
the app was updated this morning and the issue still exists.
thanks
ok does appear to be same thing to merged into this topic.
I can confirm all this - and it is extremely annoying!
Both my photo library AND my music library is affected as both has a multiple cases of folder depth of more than 3. Unfortunately I can’t tell for certain exactly when the troubles began, but it must have been more than a month ago. I just assumed it would be fixed “soon”… ![]()
Both my Huawei P20 Pro cell phone and my Samsung Tab S6 notepad are affected. My Plex server version is as I’m writing this 1.32.2.7100.
Edit: In another post it was said that the troubles began after app version 9.14.0.37871, and this version luckily is still available on www.apkmirror.com. Reverting to this version fixed the problem on both my devices using Android. A great big thank’s for this information!!

Edit: According to new information as of yesterday from [marekszulik] (https://forums.plex.tv/u/marekszulik) Plex Employee, the problem is fixed in 9.25 beta, and it’s scheduled to reach production within 2 weeks!
