Hello, a few days ago Plex stopped opening folders on Android apps. I have a Samsung s24 Ultra and a Lenovo M10 plus 3rd Gen. I am able to open the folders on every other device. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times as well. I am able to open folders if i use the browser which gives me a work around but hope you have a fix. Thank you, love Plex!
I can pull up my server and see the folders, but cannot open them for some reason. Happens on both my phone and tablet. Friends ios phone works fine though. Tried updating the server itself, to no help.
Just to clarify: you’re experiencing this when navigating a library in folder view? (the term „folder“ has been used in weird ways in the past)

Do you know when that update will be? It’s a bit frustrating to pay a subscription for something I can’t use, but I am glad a fix is coming, thank you!
I am having the same issue but I am using iOS. Will the fix include Android as well as iOS?
I have the same issue on my iOS devices.
Can play videos normally in the files view, but can’t enter folders in library folder view.
Still unusable and now I get a notice that the subscription price is doubling?? What am I paying for when I can’t use it??
I am experiencing the same issue on my Samsung Galaxy Ultra 21. I have library that I need to organize content in folders. Just a few weeks ago I was able to filter via folder instead of movies the content. Now when I try to tap to open tgw folder nothing happens. Frustrating.
Can we get an update? You are doubling your cost to ~$100 per year and I can’t use it? What am I paying for?
Plex usually releases a new version every two weeks, they just released 2026.5.0 this past Monday. Next Monday (4/6) should be the beta for 2026.6.0, unless delayed due to Easter Monday, and the full release of that version the Monday (4/13) after that.
Which means it will be over a month that I have been unable to use a service that I pay Plex for.. And then they double the subscription cost…frustrating

Impossible to click on a folder to open it in “Folder” view.
If anyone is looking for a workaround until the next app version is released I used the Charles Proxy instructions and seemed to work fine just make sure to follow the instructions exactly. You will also need to disable automatic app update on whatever iOS or Android device you are using.
New beta update seems to have fixed the issue for now.
Is there any way to install the Beta release on iOS? I installed beta on PC, but iOS still has this issue.
install TestFlight, then go to the thread linked below and join the beta (if it’s open). Note you can’t run the beta and public version together. It’s one or the other. And the iOS beta is only for mobile, not tvOS, which is separate.

I noticed the past week on my phone the plex app is no longer able to browse media by folder. When I go to library then switch movie to folder it lists my folders but when I tap on the folder nothing happens. I’ve tried clearing cache, force stopping restarting the device, even the server, and removing and reinstalling. It does work fine on web, tv, and fire stick.
I use this on my phone almost daily for years and it’s always worked up until about a week ago
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think it’s an app issue and not a server side thing so not sure what to do from here.

I’m not sure when this happened but yesterday i realised i cant open any folders on either of these devices
i have all my box sets categorized, science fiction comedy etc
they show up but i just cant open them?
anybody else with the same issue?
all the files are there i just cant open the the actual folders which is a real pain!!
